An 81-year-old Chinese grandmother went skydiving in Australia and “fell in love” with the sport during a trip to visit her son.
Min Deyu, from Hubei in China, attracted much attention in China after photographs emerged of her smiling and apparently unafraid before making the leap.
She apparently shocked her fellow jumpers after making the leap on a trip to Australia. She was assisted by professional instructors.
Chinese media reported that she “fell in love with parachuting”.
However, she cannot claim the title of world’s oldest female skydiver – a title that has been claimed by Aida Mendes, a 103-year-old woman from Brazil who reportedly completed a tandem jump in August last year.
